Set on a historic estate near the former site of the old priory of Syningthwaite , the property’s roots trace back decades, while today it blends heritage charm with modern facilities. The barn’s original stone walls and exposed beams reflect its history whilst modern styling allow it to function seamlessly as an elegant event space.
The venue itself combines a beautifully restored barn, a flexible marquee and seven beautifully styled cottages all arranged around a peaceful, private courtyard.

Our History
Situated on a private secluded farming estate of Syningthwaite in North Yorkshire which is central in the golden triangle – Leeds, York, and Harrogate.
Priory self-catering holiday cottages are named as such because of their close proximity to Syningthwaite Priory and are owned by the Rawlings family who has farmed the area since the grandfather of the present David Rawlings rented it from Lord Hawk in 1920. Consequently, he bought the Farm including the 12C Priory in 1948, and over a period of time his family did live in the Priory itself.
